Ephemerals - Chasing Ghosts

EPHEMERALS INTERVIEW

When did you first start singing?

6years ago, through a friend who persuaded me that I could actually do it. At that time I had no idea that I had this talent.

What did your family do to encourage you?

My mom and friends were the people who encouraged me really. But nothing extraordinary they were just supportive and patient.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Vast question. Humm, well of course a lot of classics like Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis Jr, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Fela Kuti,  Lots of that stuff. But the main influence in all that is definitely Otis Redding.

What kind of music do you listen to today?

A lot of everything - Hiatus Kaiyote, Fat Freddy's Drop, Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla Signs, Kelhani, Nao and the list goes on...

What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?

Don't know if it's embarrassing but I've still got some system of the down and some Rage Against The Machine in there for nostalgia.

Where would you most like to perform?

Venue? Radio city music hall! City? Tokyo!!!

Who would you most like to open for?

Dead? Otis Redding

Alive? don't know would be a toss between D'angelo, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Alabama Shakes.

If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?

I think nursing or something in the medical environment. I like helping people feel better :)

What genre of music can't you stand to listen to?

Don't really hate anything, there's a couple of things that get to me like one finger DJ's.

What hidden talents do you have?

Apparently I give great massages.

Best track you've ever written and why?

A song I wrote maybe  3-4 years ago for an ex girlfriend.

Which question i did forget to ask?

Think you got it, if we get any deeper this would become an 18 and over mag :p
