When did you first start singing?

Well I always sang as long as I can remember but started getting paid

at age 19 - that was my first effort at professional work.

What did your family do to encourage you?

My family was busy doing all they could to survive so it really was a solo effort on my part. I had friends that are very supportive of the idea and a Universe that seemed to be scheming to be sure I continued to sing. For that I am eternally grateful.

Who are your musical inspirations?

There are countless, however most certainly Otis Rush and BB King, Etta James, Koko Taylor, James Brown, Aretha Franklin - especialy her gospel work -then there is the entire volume of country blues artists like Memphis Minnie, Son House and Skip James.

What kind of music do you listen to today?

Blues, Soul, Gospel and Classical.

What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?

I am not embarrassed by any of it actually ;)

Where would you most like to perform?

Where ever people want to see and hear the show. Its the best feeling in the world

to be wanted.

Who would you most like to open for?

Jason Isbell would be a blast I think. Dr John of course. I am sure there is someone I am not thinking of at the moment.

If you weren't singing, what would you be doing ?

Rescuing animals.

What genre of music can't you stand to listen to?

I have a hard time with heavy metal.

What hidden talents do you have?

Ha! Sewing. Also I am a very good at mechanical stuff.

Its not really that those things are hidden in as much as I haven’t the time these days.

Best track you've ever written and why?

Ohhhh hard to make choices which in and of itself is a quality problem, right?

I am very proud of I Won’t Cry and also very proud of the songs I have co-written

on Love Wins Again -the newest CD co wrote the title track and 6 more of those songs ;)

Which question i did forget to ask?

Hahahahahahahaha ;)
